GBL’s Dr Sangeeta Srivastava Earns Honorary Fellow BRSI 2025 Title at IIT Roorkee

Roorkee, Uttarakhand, Dec 15, 2025 — Dr Sangeeta Srivastava, Executive Director of Godavari Biorefineries Ltd (GBL), was conferred the Honorary Fellow BRSI 2025 title by the Biotech Research Society of India (BRSI). The award was presented during the opening session of the XXII BRSI Convention, held alongside the International Conference on Advances in Biotechnology, Bioprocessing and Structural Biology (ICABSB-2025) at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee. This recognition honours her decades of work in industrial biotechnology, renewable chemicals and sustainable bioprocesses.

Honorary Fellow BRSI 2025 Award Details

The Honorary Fellow BRSI 2025 is one of the highest distinctions given by the Biotech Research Society of India. BRSI is a professional, non-profit scientific society dedicated to promoting excellence in biotechnology research and bioeconomy development. The honour is reserved for individuals who have made significant contributions to national biotechnology capabilities, research translation and industry-academia collaboration. Dr Srivastava was selected by an expert jury for her extensive contributions in areas such as renewable chemicals, industrial bioprocess innovation and strengthening partnerships between science and industry.

Dr Srivastava has over three decades of experience in research and development. She holds more than 20 patents and has authored several scientific publications. Her expertise covers ethanol, bio-based chemicals and integrated biorefining. At GBL, she has led innovations in circular-economy-based processes, renewable fuels and bio-derived molecules supporting India’s energy transition and sustainability goals.

During the award event, Dr Srivastava emphasised that the recognition reflects sustained scientific and industrial work aimed at advancing India’s bioeconomy.
